Work through these checks before opening a ticket. They solve most problems.
- Is the VPS running? Log in to the control panel and check its status. If it is stopped, start it.
- Is your account up to date? A VPS with an overdue invoice is suspended. Check Billing > My Invoices in the client area.
- Can you see the console? Open VNC in the control panel. If you can log in there, the server is running and the problem is likely the network or firewall configuration inside it.
- Did you change the firewall or SSH settings? From the VNC console, check
ufw statusorfirewall-cmd --list-all, and that the SSH service is running withsystemctl status ssh. - Is the server out of resources? A full disk or no free memory can stop services responding. Check with
df -handfree -m. - Is it just you? Try connecting from another network, such as your phone's mobile data, in case your own IP address has been blocked by Fail2ban.
Still stuck? Open a ticket including your VPS's IP address, what you were doing when it stopped working, and any error messages. Please check our Network Status page first for known issues.
