Using the VPS control panel

The VPS control panel lets you manage your server even when you cannot log in to it. Log in at vps.renewableweb.co.uk or via the client area.

Task

What to use

Start, stop, restart or power off

The power buttons on your VPS's overview page

Check CPU, memory, disk and bandwidth

The overview and Statistics pages

Use the server's screen and keyboard

VNC (opens a console in your browser)

Reset the root password

Change Password (see How do I reset my VPS root password?)

Reinstall the operating system

Reinstall OS

Set reverse DNS

rDNS (Please open a ticket)

Restart vs power off: Restart asks the operating system to shut down cleanly first. Power off cuts power immediately, like pulling the plug. Only use it if the server is not responding.

Reinstalling the OS permanently deletes everything on the VPS. Download anything you need first.
