Getting started with your VPS

When your VPS is ready, we send a welcome email containing everything you need:

  • your VPS's IP address
  • the root password (or the SSH key you supplied when ordering)
  • the address and login for the VPS control panel

Your VPS is usually ready within 60 seconds of payment.

Your first steps:

  1. Log in to the VPS control panel to check the server is running. See Using the VPS control panel.
  2. Connect to your server over SSH. See How do I connect to my VPS using SSH?
  3. Update the operating system and secure the server straight away. See How do I secure a new Linux VPS?
  4. Change the root password if you were sent one by email.

You can also reach the control panel from the client area: go to Services > My Services, click your VPS, then Login to Control Panel.
