How do I force HTTPS on my website?

Once you have an SSL certificate, you should send all visitors to the secure https:// version of your site.

  1. In cPanel, go to Domains > Domains.
  2. Find your domain and switch on Force HTTPS Redirect.

That is all you need for most sites. Visitors who type http:// will be redirected automatically.

WordPress users should also update the site address. Go to Settings > General in WordPress and make sure both WordPress Address and Site Address start with https://.

If the toggle is greyed out, your domain does not yet have a valid certificate. See Free SSL certificates with AutoSSL.
