How do I renew my domain, and what is auto-renew?

Domains are registered for a fixed period and must be renewed before they expire, or your website and email will stop working.

Auto-renew is turned on by default. With auto-renew on, we raise a renewal invoice 30 days before expiry and renew the domain as soon as the invoice is paid.

To renew manually:

  1. Go to Domains > Renew Domains.
  2. Choose the renewal period for each domain and click Order Now.
  3. Pay the invoice to complete the renewal.

To turn auto-renew on or off:

  1. Go to Domains > My Domains and click Manage Domain.
  2. On the Overview tab, toggle Auto Renew.

If a domain expires, most can still be renewed at the normal price for a short grace period. After that, a recovery fee of £5.00 may apply, and eventually the domain is released for anyone to register.
