How do I change my domain's nameservers?

Nameservers tell the internet where to find your domain's DNS records. You only need to change them if you are pointing your domain at a different hosting provider, or back to us.

  1. Log in to the client area and go to Domains > My Domains.
  2. Click the spanner icon or Manage Domain next to your domain.
  3. Open the Nameservers tab.
  4. Choose Use default nameservers to point the domain at Renewable Web, or Use custom nameservers and enter the ones your other provider has given you.
  5. Click Change Nameservers.

Our default nameservers are listed in the Nameservers article. Changes usually take effect within a few hours but can take up to 48 hours to spread across the internet.
