How do I upload my website?

Your website's files go in the public_html folder of your hosting account. There are two ways to upload them.

Option 1: cPanel File Manager (best for a few files)

  1. Log in to cPanel and open Files > File Manager.
  2. Open the public_html folder.
  3. Click Upload and choose your files.
  4. To upload a whole site at once, upload it as a .zip file, then right-click it and choose Extract.

Option 2: FTP (best for many files or regular updates)

Use an FTP app such as FileZilla with these settings:

Setting

Value

Host

renewableweb.co.uk or ftp.yourdomain.co.uk

Protocol

FTP with explicit TLS (FTPES)

Port

Username

Password

Your home page must be called index.html or index.php. Remove our default placeholder page from public_html if it is still there.
