Most providers, including Gmail and Microsoft, check three DNS records before trusting your email. If any are missing or wrong, your messages are likely to land in spam or be rejected.
|
Record |
What it proves |
|---|---|
|
SPF |
Which servers are allowed to send email for your domain |
|
DKIM |
That the message was signed by your domain and not altered |
|
DMARC |
What receivers should do if SPF or DKIM fails |
If your domain uses our nameservers:
- In cPanel, go to Email > Email Deliverability.
- If your domain shows a problem, click Manage, then Repair for SPF and DKIM.
- Add a DMARC record in the Zone Editor. A safe starting point is a TXT record named
_dmarcwith the valuev=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:you@yourdomain.co.uk.
If your DNS is hosted elsewhere, Email Deliverability shows the exact records to add. Copy them into your DNS provider.
Other common causes are sending to large lists from a normal mailbox, spammy subject lines, and messages containing only an image. For newsletters, use a dedicated mailing service.
