How do I back up and restore my website?

We back up our servers daily and keep 30 days of backups. These are for disaster recovery, and we recommend keeping your own copies as well.

To download your own backup:

  1. In cPanel, go to Files > Backup.
  2. Under Partial Backups, download your Home Directory (your files) and each MySQL Database.
  3. Store the files somewhere safe, such as your computer or cloud storage.

To restore your own backup: on the same page, use Restore a Home Directory Backup or Restore a MySQL Database Backup and upload the file.

To restore from our server backups: use Files > File and Directory Restoration open a ticket telling us which files, databases or email accounts you need, and the date to restore from.

Restoring overwrites what is there now, so download a copy of the current site first if you might need it.
